“3” is a site responsive and time specific performance for the camera, that reflects on how my surname “Lale” has been altered from its encounters with new languages and cultures over the course of the last century in its spelling, pronunciation, and meaning. “3” uses durational performance, linguistics and repetition in order to address questions concerning the powerful and transformative nature of language and the importance of ancestral identity preservation
